“When we needed prototype parts done quickly for fit up, Sound delivered. When we needed help with designs and manufacturing engineering, Sound brought their team to our site and worked with our engineers to improve the part design for easier assembly and lower cost."
"Sound Mfg is our choice for sheet metal fabrication because they truly are a partner in the success of our business. This includes competitive pricing and on time delivery as well as many intangibles that make them stand out from the others. I highly recommend Sound Mfg to any manufacturer that wants more from their supplier”
"There are many good sheet metal suppliers in our area and over the years we have had the opportunity to work with a variety of them. Several years ago we began working with Sound Mfg. We started slow knowing that establishing an effective relationship is at times a daunting task. However, Sound surprised us, pleasantly! We quickly learned that what Sound promoted as "partnering" with customers could be better described as Sound becoming a part of our team."
It’s great to have a local Connecticut company that invests in modern manufacturing equipment, as Sound Mfg. does. The equipment, quality processes, and staff at Sound Mfg. are outstanding. They have been meeting our expectations by producing high quality, competitively prices parts and delivering them on time for over 10 years.
Simply stated Sound gets the job done. Their quotes are on time and competitive, their stated lead times are more than reasonable and the customer service is always pleasant. We have enjoyed doing business with the entire team at Sound for over 16 years and we look forward to many more years of working together.

As a means to lower cost and decrease lead-time, we offer KanBan inventory control. What is KanBan? KanBan is a system to maintain a specific level of finished good inventory, and a level of work in process to replenish releases prior to the next release requirement.
There are many benefits to a KanBan system including reducing inventory values due to cost of storage, counting, damage, insurance, and obsolescence. An efficient KanBan system can reduce inventory by 30% the cost of inventory, while maintaining short lead times.
Our sales, production, and management team are experienced in developing KanBan systems that benefit our customers’ needs. We would be happy to discuss how KanBan can work for your organization.
CNC LASER CUTTING
Our CNC Trumpf laser-cutting department provides a large range of capabilities, ensuring the needs of our customers are met with quality and competitive costs. Laser cutting is effective for parts with contours, low productions quantities, and smooth edges. We utilize our high-speed CNC punches in combination with our lasers to increase production efficiency. Parts with many holes are punched first, and then the odd hole sizes and contoured edges are laser cut. The use of Cat Eye programs ensures the integrity of the dimensional tolerance requirements between the punch and the lasers. The real advantage of a punch/laser combination is a reduction to the cost of parts. Also, with Trumpf only 45 minutes away, we have all their training and technical support at our door step.
Standard Materials Include:
Laser Cutting Capabilities
Our Trumpf TruPunch 5000 doubled our CNC punching capacity and expanded our fabrication capabilities. Coupled with our Trumpf 500, Sound Manufacturing has the capacity to exceed our customers’ needs.
